During the past 45 years, Mart, Inc. has built an exceptional reputation serving the municipalities of North Texas. Having worked for well over 50 cities and many School Districts, we are well versed in the unique challenges of a public agency. Mart, Inc., (“Mart”) is a medium sized General Contractor with extensive experience performing Job Order Contracting (“JOC”) construction work. Having performed numerous JOC opportunities for Dallas County Community College District, Garland Independent School District, City of Irving, Irving Independent School District, and Arlington Independent School District. understand that JOC work requires the General Contractor to be flexible, nimble, and creative. Our JOC Department was formed in 2010 with a first-year volume of $312,000.00. Our last year volume reached over $7 million; we are on target to end this year over $9 million. We have
developed an extensive and growing list of valued JOC Customers. Working in and around employees and students, we know that safety is always paramount. Maintaining a safe work site and a secure perimeter is, without question, the most important aspect of working at facilities such as Tarrant County Community Colleges and Dallas Colleges. Since the work is likely to be performed during business hours (and on a campus such as these, “business hours” can extend well beyond the normal 9 to 5), we understand that materials, equipment, and personnel will have to negotiate dense traffic, narrow passages, and busy students. If conditions dictate, we are prepared to work after hours to avoid conflicts with site activities. We understand that our customer’s daily business, cannot be delayed and that construction must be completed on time. Safety visits are conducted. Mart is a comprehensive General Contractor, not a broker. We maintain a materials and equipment yard in Irving, Texas. We have full time painters, carpenters, and construction laborers on staff. Therefore, we can self-perform much of the work, is an advantage to the Customer, or to shore-up a faltering Subcontractor when necessary.
